In the genre-bending comedy The Becomers, aliens mastering body-snatching grapple with the complexities of love in today’s world. Exclusive new images offer a glimpse into the film’s goopy and grotesque body-hopping escapades.
The Becomers will hit theaters on August 23, 2024, courtesy of Dark Star Pictures.
The plot of The Becomers centers on two extraterrestrials fleeing their dying planet and arriving on Earth. Played by a rotating cast of actors, these aliens hop from body to body in their quest to find each other, getting entangled in the chaos of contemporary American life.

Written, directed, and edited by Zach Clark (known for Little Sister), the movie was filmed in Chicago. It features performances by Molly Plunk (Little Sister, Profane), Mike Lopez (All Jacked Up and Full of Worms, Crimes Against Humanity), Frank V. Ross (Drinking Buddies), Isabel Alamin, and Keith Kelly. The film also includes the voice of Russell Mael, the lead singer of the pop-rock band Sparks. The Becomers was produced by Joe Swanberg (Depraved, The Rental) and Edwin Linker (Saint Frances, Queen of Earth) of Slasher Films.
Clark reunited with composer Fritz Myers for the fourth time and worked again with cinematographer Daryl Pittman, who has been the director of photography on all his films. The striking alien designs were crafted by renowned horror, creature, and sci-fi FX artists Brian Spears and Pete Gerner.

In a review from Fantasia, the film was described as a mix of absurdist humor, gross-out sci-fi, and quirky rom-com elements. It ambitiously challenges perceptions and occasionally tests the audience’s gag reflex while exploring the power of love in a tumultuous world.
The Becomers will premiere in New York on August 23 at Cinema Village, followed by a Los Angeles release on August 30 at Lumiere Music Hall, and a Chicago showing on September 13 at Music Box Theatre. Filmmaker Q&As and additional cities and dates will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, brace yourself before viewing the newly released gnarly images below.

Horror Story – The Porcelain Whisperer
A forgotten relic in the basement awakes, beckoning the eldest daughter into the darkness. The old Victorian house on Elm Street always felt a little too big for the Miller family, and definitely too quiet at night. During the day, it was full of life. Mommy (Sarah) was always baking or working in her home office, while Daddy (Tom) was busy fixing things that constantly broke in the aging structure. Six-year-old Lily filled the hallways with laughter, usually chased by Barnaby, their lazy orange tabby, and Luna, a sleek black cat who seemed to see things no one else did.[Horror Story] Fourteen-year-old Elara, however, found the house unsettling. It started a month after they moved in. At first, Elara thought it was just the wind whistling through the old chimney. It was a faint sound, barely a scratch on the […]

Horror Story – The Midwife of Blackwood Creek
Disclaimer: The following narrative is constructed from a collection of recovered journals, police transcripts from the fateful night of February 12, 1998, and interviews with the surviving family members. To protect their privacy, names and specific locations in West Virginia have been altered Part I: The Isolation The isolation of the Appalachian Mountains is deceptive. In the summer, it feels like a green, lush embrace. But in the dead of winter, when the trees are stripped bare and look like skeletal fingers clawing at the grey sky, it feels like a cage. For Sarah and David, the farmhouse on Blackwood Creek was supposed to be their sanctuary. Purchased for a suspiciously low price in the late autumn of 1997, it sat on forty acres of dense pine forest, miles away from the nearest paved road. Sarah was eight months pregnant, […]
